Would a 6-pack really make me happy?
/Hearing people in the health and fitness world talk about fat, body fat %, visceral fat, fat covering your organs and good fats can make anyone feel overwhelmed to the point of sprinting to the nearest taco stand or to Dr. David Abramson, my personal friend and plastic surgeon. Who would have thought that at this point in my life I would finally be happy in my own skin and with my midsection? Do I have abs? Why yes I do. Do I have some fat covering them? In some places more than others, yes I do. I guess it took being on a reality show to shred all those emotion-filled fat cells to make me more confident in who I am. However, once Strong was over, my body did change slightly. I noticed I wasn't as toned in my belly area as I was for my final green screen photo shoot. My cuts and definitions weren't as pronounced as they had been, but I still weighed the same. I kept assuring myself it was ok. It was ok to not be working out for 3 hours a day and it was ok to not be so focused on my macros and calories as much. I just had to take a step back and enjoy how far I had come and simply slow down and enjoy life. I am a tad ok with it and a tad frustrated. Yes, I am not far from 40 and I still have dreams of seeing 2, 4, 6 or even 8 abs but as for now, I am just going to try to enjoy my semi-toned belly, keep on taking my morning shots of apple cider vinegar, work out, stick with pretty meal prepping, and be consistent with my diet. I truly believe that not everyone has to have those chiseled Cross-Fit abs to be happy and healthy. If you know me, you know I am a workhorse and I love #GOALS. Hard work and diet will eventually wipe away that stubborn belly/post pregnancy fat. You just need to have patience, consistency and willpower. Oh and every now and then, you are entitled to have a moment or two. Now to answer my question, “Would a 6-pack make me happy?” I will let you know when I get there.
